What is the difference between different grades of leather?

FULL GRAIN LEATHER is the highest quality leather available. Made from the outer layer of the hide. It is buffed and the natural grain and texture remains intact which gives it a unique and premium appearance. It is stronger, more durable and ages better over time

Beware of cheaper versions made with SPLIT LEATHER...micro thin outer layers padded with polyurethane

So called GENUINE LEATHER is made from the parts of the hide after the top grain has been removed. Often sanded and buffed to remove imperfections . Not nearly as durable as FULL GRAIN LEATHER
